Celebrating International Mother Language Day

Among various events organized in our school there is one prepared to celebrate the International Mother Language Day. This year students participated in a competition called HAVE FUN WITH POLISH LANGUAGE. Each class was represented by two students and  these teams competed in quizzes which checked the knowledge of Polish grammar, literature and idioms (related for example to fruit and vegetables). Congratulations to the winners and to all participants!

Meeting with Naira Ayvazyan

On 11th February students in Gimnazjum in Ruda Śląska had a chance to take part in a very interesting meeting. This time our special guest was an opera and operetta singer - Naira Ayvazyan. As a teenager together with her family she came to Poland from Armenia. She told us how she learnt Polish, how her talent was discovered in an Armenian church in Gliwice where she lived and how her musical career developed. What is particularly important is that she treats her talent as something to share with. She motivated us to develop our hobbies and share with what's best in us.

A videoconference with the Czech teacher

Today students from Ruda Śląska had a videoconference with the Czech teacher. Students involved in the project are new to eTwinning so they didn't have a chance to meet Nada Kadlecova in previous years but they liked this experience very much. It was great to talk about hobbies, Winter Olympic Games and school li

fe. Hope to meet other project partners, too!

Our trip to Cracow

On 30 January 3 students from Ruda Śląska together with the project coordinator went on a trip to Cracow. The main aim was visiting the exhibition of Cracow Nativity Scenes. These Nativity Scenes are really unique. They present the birth of Jesus but the Holy Family is placed in hte region of Cracow - so you can see Cracow churches and other historical buildings typical to this city as well as characters from legends, like the Dragon or Lajkonik. We really liked the exhibition! Hope ypu will find it interesting, too!
